Events

Each year, The ALS Association Upstate New York Chapter holds several fundraising events to raise awareness and funds that help provide invaluable services to people living with ALS.

From golf tournaments, The Walk to Defeat ALS^TM, auctions and social gatherings, each event raises funds and increases awareness to help The ALS Association fund vital cutting-edge research and our patient services program. Come join the fun and help make a difference!

Upcoming Events and Notifications:

The Syracuse Support Group meeting has been rescheduled for November and December.

• The meeting in November will be held on Thursday, November 19th.
 
• The meeting in December will be held on Thursday, December 17th.

Both meetings will still be held at 6:30pm at Hospice of CNY, located at 990 Seventh North Street, Liverpool, NY (Solace Room).

Covering All the Bases

The Upstate New York Chapter is very excited to announce our local partnerships with upstate New York area Minor League Baseball teams as part of our “Covering all the Bases” Campaign.  The Syracuse Chiefs, the Rochester Red Wings, the Buffalo Bisons and the Tri-City Valley Cats have graciously invited fans, volunteers, patients, caregivers, donors and friends to come and take part in the celebration and commemoration of the 70th anniversary of Lou Gehrig’s memorable “luckiest man on the face of the earth” speech.  Events at each ball park will vary, but will include excerpts of the Lou Gehrig speech read aloud, raffles for a commemorative plaque, autographed hats, special prizes and other promotions. 

The Syracuse Chiefs, the Rochester Red Wings and the Tri-City Valley Cats will all hold events at their home stadiums on Saturday, July 4th.  Discount tickets for the Syracuse Skychiefs event available here! The Buffalo Bisons event will be held July 31st.

Robert Wright Golf Tournament  

July 27, 2009  Fifth Annual Robert Wright Memorial Golf Tournament (to benefit The ALS Association) at Pompey Club; best ball; $600 per foursome; please contact Brian Hughes at (315) 729-9632. 

Pre-Party Event to be held on Saturday, July 25th at 7:00pm at Rosie O'Grady's Pub in Syracuse.
