It was Saint ☘ Patrick’s ☘ Day 3/17/20 and the perfect day for the Maloney Clan to be registered for our 2020 Walk to Defeat ALS. So we Marked our calendars with a Claddagh and a shamrock☘☘☘☘☘! AUGUST 2,2020 11:00 AM Delaware Park! It was tobe a day for the Wearin’ of the Green!!!! Well, we will still be wearing the green but there will be no gathering in Delaware Park at all. This year it will be an individual event or a family event with a few people walking together. Why?
COVID 19 and the Pandemic that followed has certainly uprooted and changed those plans and our lives in 2020. In some ways similar to the way that ALS uprooted and changed Mike’s life in 2012 when he was diagnosed with this insidious disease. Mike did not let ALS stop him. COVID 19 will not stop us !
With determination and HOPE Mike’s footsteps continuedon the journey to find a cure. This year it is time once again for all of us to continue in his footsteps.
We have been asked to think differently act differently and move differently. The 2020 Walk to Defeat ALS will be different. We have been encouraged by the ALS Association to participate in the 2020 ALS “WALK YOUR WAY”. For our Maloney Clan we have taken it one step further. We will “WALK MIKE’S WAY” 2020.
You are asked to choose a path to walk –a path that Mike walked during his lifetime….the list of all the possible paths appears below.
Choose any day, any time from now through August 2nd and complete a 1.0 mile (or longer) walk to honor Mike and raise money for our Team.

We will create a memorable “Walk Mike’s Way” Photographic Memory of all those who walked the walk supporting ALS and Ellyn and Mike’s Family. Together we will make a difference.
We have made progress but there is still no cure and no effective treatment as of yet!
That is why we still Walk and ask that you walk beside us. Mike would have agreed with Dale Carnegie: “Most of the important things in the world have been accomplished by people who have kept on trying when there seemed to be no hope at all” Please join our team and “WALK MIKE’s WAY”.
